fit unlike its metal halide cousins. The dark non-reflective interior means less light refraction through
the lens to give away its position in the landscape.
of bezels, grills or other top plates or retaining rings. Copper grease resists degradation due to heat and protects
against difficulty in removing screws, particularly where stainless steel screws are fitted with aluminium parts. It
may also be used on screw threads of screw-off bezels or glare shields. Ensure surplus is cleaned off with a solvent

via rear entry cable gland and plastic soil sleeve.
Installation
The body of the light is located in the sleeve by an ‘O’ ring so the light doesn’t fall down into the sleeve once you remove the
top, To adjust the light first remove the stainless steel top plate held in by three screws. Remove the 9 screws below the stainless steel top plate and remove the black aluminium ring held in by these screws and remove
glass lens. You can now adjust the LED lamp reflector to the desired tilt, without removing the fitting from the ground.
Re-assemble the fitting ensuring all gaskets, glass and screws are free of soil and debris.
underground joint kit (order T9969 separately). Provide 300mm depth of shingle drainage below the uplight: do not use in
waterlogged ground.
Using a single RCD for large numbers of 240v fittings is not recommended due to the risk of nuisance tripping. We advise the use of separate RCD protectioin for each circuit and a maximum of 12 fittings per RCD. Where a garden lighting installation of more than 12 units with transformers, which results in a significantly higher fault tolerance and reliability in the total installation.
All exterior lighting products on our website have an IP rating which is explained further in our Technical Help/Products section but in simple terms the IP rating is appropriate to each light fitting and its intended application and is therefore
fit for purpose. Water ingress is the enemy for outdoor lighting and the products supplied are only as good as the
installation as the weakest point is always cable joints. All joints must be made 100% watertight and this can be
done using IP68 inline connectors, waterproof junction boxes which are then filled with a resin or gel mix. All joints
where possible should be made above ground for easy access and reduced water ingress. When installing ground buried
lights adequate drainage systems should be put in place especially in clay based soil areas. Also
mains cable should be SWA rubber and not PVC.
All exterior lights must be installed by a certified NIC EIC electrician and ideally signed off by an electrician
with Part P certification.
H05RN-F 3 Core Rubber Sheathed Mains Cable 1.5mm is recommended but do not use PVC flex cable as this can cause poor connections for the cable glands/joints and will lead to capillary action.
Lamp colour (Kelvins)
The colour of a lamp is defined as a measurement called kelvins. A standard GLS light bulb in your house would be 2,700 kelvins
which is in the warm colour spectrum and a lamp with 5,000 kelvins would be at the very cold white spectrum.
