Solasto – 230v GU10 – 304 Stainless Steel IP67 Fixed Round Recessed Spotlight Also Available With Square Bezel

The Solasto is a fixed recessed up-light with mains 230v.  It uses GU10 LED bulbs and is configured to only take a maximum wattage of 6w. So please do not install any GU10’s above 6w.  There is a square bezel option which is code 227684.

This fitting is ideal to create a subtle ambient wall wash of light with a fixed upward projection.  It’s fine for the edges of driveways and up-lighting from the base of walls and small trees. This fitting can take a maximum load of 544 Kg (0.6T) .

It is made of 304 Stainless Steel but if you live within 20 miles of the coast we would recommend you go with 316 Stainless Steel or Brass or Copper fittings.

The diameter is 12cm. Depth 13.6cm. Installation depth 15.2cm and installation diameter (cut out) is 10.5cm. 

We recommend you use approximately 20cm of shingle or gravel underneath the fitting for drainage especially in areas of clay soil.

A NIC EIC electrical contractor should be used to ensure a 100% water tight installation. There are resin kits, magic gel
and heat shrink kits available from us to help make the perfect waterproof joint.

Choosing the style of a product is only part of the equation you must also think of where that product will be used and how
it will be installed. All exterior lighting products on our web site have a IP rating which is explained further in our Technical Help/Products section but in simple terms the IP rating is appropriate to each light fitting and its intended application
and is therefore fit for purpose. Water ingress is the enemy for outdoor lighting and the products supplied are only
as good as the installation as the weakest point is always cable joints. All joint must be made 100% water tight and
this can be done using heat shrink kits, waterproof junction boxes which are then filled with a resin mix or magic gel.
All joints where possible should be made above ground for easy access and reduced water ingress. When installing ground buried lights adequate drainage systems should be put in place especially in clay based soil areas.  
Mains 240v cable will have less joints than a low voltage installation but care must be taken with the cable runs.
