QuadMarka – 240v Copper GU10 IP67 Recessed Light 4 Windows 360 Degree Of Light
The QuadMarka has two conical sections on one side of the top of the fitting, which allows a 360º diffusion of light through
a clear lens, without glare. The slightly domed surface makes this the ideal shape for mounting on decking, a patio or
any other areas where a walk over facility is required. The front bezel is threaded, and attaches to a copper body by
screwing together with no external screws or fixings which results in a neater overall finish. This also means no tools
are required to change the GU10 lamp (LED recommended).
This fitting is available in Stainless Steel and Brass too in both 12v and 240v along with the 12v version in Copper.
The robust black plastic sleeve is supplied to protect the copper and assist with installation. The sleeving should be built
into the wall during construction or retrofitted into a drilled out hole. The main part of the light then pushes into
the tube, where it is held firmly in place, leaving only the streamline front dome on show.
The QuadMarka is supplied with approx. 3m of 3 core H05RNF cable. This longer
cable length gives the option of a 6m space between two lights should it be needed, and could cut down the number of cable
joins in outdoor lighting installation. Light can also be spread to a wider area with longer cable length.
Not to be driven over.
Please note: This fitting must be installed with the mounting sleeve and additional rubber seal. If the sleeving and seal is not used, the Guarantee will be void. Not for use in areas prone to water-logging or flooding.
COPPER & BRASS
Both brass and copper are extremely durable materials, with brass being a combination of copper and zinc, meaning neither
can rust or corrode. Over time brass will subtly weather and naturally change to a darker colour which will blend
in with the garden surroundings. Copper also naturally changes colour quite dramatically, often resulting in a brown
or ‘verdigris’ effect, again to blend in with the outdoor surroundings. This is because copper reacts with atmospheric
oxygen. Although some people may prefer a pristine, shiny copper finish, the oxide layer in fact prevents corrosion
and simply adds to the character of natural copper creating a traditional, ‘olde worlde’ appearance. If a new copper
finish is preferred, a layer of lacquer can prevent / slow down the weathering process.
240v IN-GROUND LIGHTS
240v fittings can be affected by damp conditions, typically when located outdoors. When a fitting is located outside in the
cold air combined with the heat produced by the lamp inside, it is inevitable that condensation will occur, just as it
does on bedroom windows in the home. If too much condensation is produced, this could result in the fitting tripping,
especially in these types of fittings where a drainage hole is not possible. To combat this, we include silica gel with
all Quadmarka 240v in-ground lights to soak up any excess moisture – these should not be removed but replaced periodically
and fittings checked. If any water is sitting in the fitting, this should be tipped out and the fitting safely dried
out. Condensation can be more prominent when the fitting has been opened on a damp day, as the damp air will then be
trapped inside when re-sealed. Therefore it is recommended that any maintenance, including changing bulbs, is performed
on a dry day. An additional practice to be put in place is to apply Lithium Grease to the bulb holder / bulb which acts
as an additional seal to prevent tripping. Although this prevents tripping, the fittings will still need to be checked
and dried out should water sit inside the fitting. For extra protection, the Quadmarka can also be filled with Wiska Gel
(electrical insulation).
