QuadMarka – 12v Plug & Play Copper MR16 IP67 Recessed Light 4 Windows 360 Degree Of Light
The QuadMarka elegant Natural Copper recessed light mounts in the ground, in walls, steps or decking. Copper creates a
beautiful traditional appearance, blending in with surroundings.
This fitting is available in Brass and Stainless Steel too in both 12v and 240v along with the 240v version in Copper.
The QuadMarka Natural Copper recessed light has four conical sections on the top of the fitting. The result is a 4 Way anti
glare light effect, emitted through a clear lens. The domed surface is the ideal shape for decking, a patio or other
areas where people walk. The threaded front bezel attaches to a copper body by screwing together. There are no external
screws or fixings which results in a neater overall finish. As a result of the threaded two part design, replacing the
MR16 lamp is easy should it ever fail (LED recommended for longer life).
The robust black plastic sleeve supplied protects the copper and assists with installation. The sleeving builds into the
wall during construction, or retrofitted into a drilled out hole. The main part of the light then pushes into the tube,
where it holds firmly in place, leaving only the streamline front dome on show.
Please note: This fitting must be installed with the mounting sleeve and additional rubber seal. If the sleeving and seal is not used, the Guarantee is void. Not for use in areas prone to water-logging or flooding.
The QuadMarka is supplied with approx. 3m of 3 core H05RNF cable. This longer
cable length gives the option of a 6m space between two lights should it be needed, and could cut down the number of cable
joins in outdoor lighting installation. Light can also be spread to a wider area with longer cable length.
COPPER & BRASS
Both brass and copper are extremely durable materials, with brass being a combination of copper and zinc, meaning neither
can rust or corrode. Over time brass will subtly weather and naturally change to a darker colour which will blend in
with the garden surroundings. Copper also naturally changes colour quite dramatically, often resulting in a brown or
‘verdigris’ effect, again to blend in with the outdoor surroundings. This is because copper reacts with atmospheric oxygen.
Although some people may prefer a pristine, shiny copper finish, the oxide layer in fact prevents corrosion and simply
adds to the character of natural copper creating a traditional, ‘olde worlde’ appearance. If a new copper finish is preferred,
a layer of lacquer can prevent / slow down the weathering process.
Installation 12v
Choosing the style of a product is only part of the equation you must also think of where that product will be used and how
it will be installed. All exterior lighting products on our web site have an IP rating appropriate to each light fitting
and its intended application and is therefore fit for purpose. Water ingress is the enemy for outdoor lighting and the
products supplied are only as good as the installation. The weakest point is always cable joints. All joints must be
made 100% watertight and this can be done using IP68 cable connectors and/or waterproof junction boxes which are then
filled with a re-enterable liquid gel mix. All joints where possible should be made above ground for easy access and
reduced water ingress. When installing ground buried lights adequate drainage systems should be put in place especially
in clay-based soil areas. If possible, use ground surface spike lights rather than a buried light. Care must be
taken with the cable runs and not to install transformers more than 30 metres away from the furthest fitting to avoid
any voltage drop. Cabling should be 2 core Rubber HO5RN-F or HO7RN-F and not PVC. PVC leads to capillary action over
time especially with UV degradation. Always check the correct type of transformer you need for your fittings. We recommend
wiring in parallel with Toroidal AC and LED DC drivers. But when using Milliamp mA LED drivers, they should always be
wired in series. Plug and Play kits are simply a case of daisy chaining the fittings via plug and play junction boxes,
connectors and extension cables using a 2-pin plug arrangement. These Plug and Play fittings should only be used for
small domestic projects due to voltage drop over 5 metres.
All exterior lights must be installed by a certified NIC EIC electrician and should be signed off by an electrician with
Part P certification. There are a selection of waterproof jointing kits and boxes available on this web site.
