could fix them on the underside of the top of a pergola and send a pencil beam of light down to the floor to illuminate
the pathway below or back light a bench area, the possibilities are endless and they are a very easy and cost effective
solution to illuminate an outdoor space.
This fitting comes with a 9w 3000k warm white LED which is a sealed unit.. The level of lumen output is 520 lumens which equates to a standard 50w halogen output.
LED’s offer energy savings over the traditional halogen GU10 lamps and are also cool to touch and safe around children.
Warm white and cool white colour temperatures are preferred over coloured LED’s for the majority of applications. Cool white works well when illuminating pine trees whereas the warm white
works better on brickwork, wood and warm coloured shrubs and plants. Warm light always looks more inviting too.

All exterior lighting products on our website have an IP rating which is explained further in our Technical
Help/Products section but in simple terms the IP rating is appropriate to each light fitting and its intended
application and is therefore fit for purpose. Water ingress is the enemy for outdoor lighting and the products
supplied are only as good as the installation as the weakest point is always cable joints. All joints must be
made 100% watertight and this can be done using IP68 inline connectors, waterproof junction boxes which are
then filled with a resin or gel mix. All joints where possible should be made above ground for easy access and
reduced water ingress. When installing ground buried lights adequate drainage systems should be put in place especially in clay based soil areas.
All exterior lights must be installed by a certified NIC EIC electrician and should be signed off by an electrician
with Part P certification. There are a selection of waterproof jointing kits and boxes available on this
web site.
