The Moonray code E7871 is a 12v decorative hanging downlight with a long decorative perforated barrel. It has
an open base and can accommodate a clip-on MR16 accessory such as a frosted lens, glare louvre or colour filter. The
fitting uses MR16 LED bulbs. The natural copper blends well with red brick and timber.

Also available in Black or Brown colour finishes.

The suspended hanging downlight can be strapped to a tree branch or suspended from a brass hook or bracket to illuminate
a seating area or feature below. It has an open base and holes drilled in to the main body shaft to throw a twinkle light
effect around the surrounding area. It can be hung over a seating area and a pool of light will illuminate the bench.
Light is thrown down onto the floor or seating area below and a round circle of light is produced. The size of the circle
is determined by the beam angle of the lamp you install. Can be used with a variety of MR16 LED lamps ideally in warm
white. These lights also look good suspended just above a veranda  for a soft evening light or suspended from a
wrought iron arm over a BBQ cooking area. 

Lamp Colour (Kelvins) 

The colour of a lamp is defined as a measurement called kelvins. A standard GLS light bulb in your house would be 2,700 kelvins
which is in the warm colour spectrum and a lamp with 5,000 kelvins would be at the very cold white spectrum.

Installation 12v       

Choosing the style of a product is only part of the equation you must also think of where that product will be used and how
it will be installed. All exterior lighting products on our web site have an IP rating appropriate to each light fitting
and its intended application and is therefore fit for purpose. Water ingress is the enemy for outdoor lighting and the
products supplied are only as good as the installation. The weakest point is always cable joints. All joints must be
made 100% watertight and this can be done using IP68 cable connectors and/or waterproof junction boxes which are then
filled with a re-enterable liquid gel mix. All joints where possible should be made above ground for easy access and
reduced water ingress. When installing ground buried lights adequate drainage systems should be put in place especially
in clay-based soil areas. If possible, use ground surface spike lights rather than a buried light.  Care must be
taken with the cable runs and not to install transformers more than 30 metres away from the furthest fitting to avoid
any voltage drop. Cabling should be 2 core Rubber HO5RN-F or HO7RN-F and not PVC. PVC leads to capillary action over
time especially with UV degradation. Always check the correct type of transformer you need for your fittings. We recommend
wiring in parallel with Toroidal AC and LED DC drivers. But when using Milliamp mA LED drivers, they should always be
wired in series. Plug and Play kits are simply a case of daisy chaining the fittings via plug and play junction boxes,
connectors and extension cables using a 2-pin plug arrangement. 

All exterior lights must be installed by a certified NIC EIC electrician and should be signed off by an electrician with
