Modula ground, 30 degree tilt adjustment, up light, Square, Textured brass, 12v, IP67
The E8861N is a stylish 12v recessed uplight with a choice of LED lamps. The Modula is fitted with a flush lens as standard.
The light is located by an “O” ring on the body into a sleeve tube. To facilitate removal of screws for future re-lamping
or other maintenance, apply copper grease to the threads of all screws being fitted for retention of bezels, grills or other
top plates or retaining rings. Copper grease resists degradation due to heat and protects against difficulty in removing
screws, particularly where stainless steel screws are fitted with aluminium parts. It may also be used on screw threads of
screw-off bezels or glare shields. Ensure surplus is cleaned off with a solvent to prevent staining in use.
Installation 12v
Choosing the style of a product is only part of the equation you must also think of where that product will be used and how
it will be installed. All exterior lighting products on our web site have an IP rating appropriate to each light fitting
and its intended application and is therefore fit for purpose. Water ingress is the enemy for outdoor lighting and the
products supplied are only as good as the installation. The weakest point is always cable joints. All joints must be
made 100% watertight and this can be done using IP68 cable connectors and/or waterproof junction boxes which are then
filled with a re-enterable liquid gel mix. All joints where possible should be made above ground for easy access and
reduced water ingress. When installing ground buried lights adequate drainage systems should be put in place especially
in clay-based soil areas. If possible, use ground surface spike lights rather than a buried light. Care must be
taken with the cable runs and not to install transformers more than 30 metres away from the furthest fitting to avoid
any voltage drop. Cabling should be 2 core Rubber HO5RN-F or HO7RN-F and not PVC. PVC leads to capillary action over
time especially with UV degradation. Always check the correct type of transformer you need for your fittings. We recommend
wiring in parallel with Toroidal AC and LED DC drivers. But when using Milliamp mA LED drivers, they should always be
wired in series. Plug and Play kits are simply a case of daisy chaining the fittings via plug and play junction boxes,
connectors and extension cables using a 2-pin plug arrangement.
All exterior lights must be installed by a certified NIC EIC electrician and should be signed off by an electrician with
Part P certification. There are a selection of waterproof jointing kits and boxes available on this web site.
