There are a number of light fittings available in the wall light section including a fully adjustable wall spot light and a fixed down light which is ideal to illuminate pathways and shrubs when fixed to a fence post.
The up and down light is a 240v wall or post mount model for fixed up / down lighting and grazing applications to create stylish wall illumination effects. 240v models utilize GU10 halogen lamps which means there is no need for a bulky transformer base and they fit mains wiring points on house walls and pillars.
35w lamps may be needed to create a powerful effect on darker stone and brick walls, whereas 20 watt lamps are usually ideal for up / down lighting on lighter, rendered or stone walls.
A 3w led module provides a long life, low energy option for lighting smaller subjects, while 7w – 11w compact fluorescent lamps provide a broader wash of light, including an 11w dimmable model.
It has flush lenses which shed water and dirt and are easy to clean. Black powder-coated aluminium is a traditional recessive colour choice for garden settings
All outdoor lighting should be installed by a qualified NIC EIC certified electrician to ensure a safe and water tight installation.
Installation
Care must be taken when installing exterior lighting products especially those that are ground mounted. All the products are sold and tested fit for purpose and the IP rating is set according to the design and purpose of the luminaire, more details on IP ratings can be found under design ideas section.
Lamp Colour (Kelvins)
Lamp colour is determined by the Kelvins and a lamp which is 2700 kelvin is classed as warm white and sympathetic to skin tones and warm brickwork. A kelvin of 6500k is in the blueish white spectrum and works well against a white background and will appear brighter to the naked eye than the warm colour spectrum.
