Eyelite 12V Garden Step Light – Brass (Rustic Bronze Finish)
This solid brass Eyelite Steplight with bronze finish is a smart 12v surface mount garden light ideal for lighting
stepped areas, either mounted on walls next to steps, or on the steps themselves. It can also be used as a deck light.
The ‘eye lid’ design results in all light shining downwards, without glare, which makes it perfect for the function of
lighting steps. A mirrored reflector inside the step light ensures all light is emitted outwards with a frosted glass
lens diffusing the light evenly. The Eyelite is both robust and stylish, with a high IP rating of IP54, and has 3 external
screws; to firmly secure the front to the back. Like the Slatlite, this low voltage step light has a G4 fitting. An LED
G4 capsule is recommended, and is available as an optional extra. The bright 12 volt LED G4 in cool white, or warm white which
can be selected below, saves more energy and has a much longer life span than a standard halogen G4. G4 LED bulbs
will work from a normal Halogen 12v A/C transformer so there is no need to buy a special LED “Driver”.
The fitting comes in either 240v or 12v – code EYE240 and also in Solid Brass with an aged silver finish. codes EYE240-S and EYE12P-S
The Eyelite forms part of the VERSA Plug & Play Range. For ease of installation, the 12v Eyelite is complete with
a 2 pin plug which plugs directly into a 12v Transformer, or any Versa connectors, meaning no wiring is required.
If the plug is not required then this can simply be cut off and the wire stripped to create a normal connection via a
junction box. VERSA Plug & Play connectors are also compatible with other plug and play systems such as Techmar and
Lighting for Gardens.
NOT TO BE INSTALLED LYING FLAT.

Choosing the style of a product is only part of the equation you must also think of where that product will be used and how
it will be installed. All exterior lighting products on our web site have an IP rating appropriate to each light fitting
and its intended application and is therefore fit for purpose. Water ingress is the enemy for outdoor lighting and the
products supplied are only as good as the installation. The weakest point is always cable joints. All joints must be
made 100% watertight and this can be done using IP68 cable connectors and/or waterproof junction boxes which are then
filled with a re-enterable liquid gel mix. All joints where possible should be made above ground for easy access and
reduced water ingress. When installing ground buried lights adequate drainage systems should be put in place especially
in clay-based soil areas. If possible, use ground surface spike lights rather than a buried light. Care must be
taken with the cable runs and not to install transformers more than 30 metres away from the furthest fitting to avoid
any voltage drop. Cabling should be 2 core Rubber HO5RN-F or HO7RN-F and not PVC. PVC leads to capillary action over
time especially with UV degradation. Always check the correct type of transformer you need for your fittings. We recommend
wiring in parallel with Toroidal AC and LED DC drivers. But when using Milliamp mA LED drivers, they should always be
wired in series. Plug and Play kits are simply a case of daisy chaining the fittings via plug and play junction boxes,
connectors and extension cables using a 2-pin plug arrangement. These Plug and Play fittings should only be used for
small domestic projects due to voltage drop over 5 metres.
All exterior lights must be installed by a certified NIC EIC electrician and should be signed off by an electrician with
Part P certification. There are a selection of waterproof jointing kits and boxes available on this web site.
