Decimina – Deck Light 12v MR11 Max 35w IP67 Stainless Steel – Plug & Play – Choice Of Clear Or Frosted Lenses
The Decimina is a stylish recessed light that not only can be used on decking, this versatile light can also be used as a
step light, recessed path light or wall light as it can be mounted on virtually any surface. In a Stainless Steel finish
this is bound to fit into a garden setting. It uses a 12v MR11 lamp which are ordered separately.
The Decimina is a smaller version of the Decimax which uses a standard MR16 . A
strong 20mm satin stainless steel rim surrounds the 30mm diameter glass lens, which is secured in place with 3 screws.
This makes changing the lamp a very simple task.
It also has a very high IP Rating of IP67 so can withstand outdoor
weather conditions such as rain and strong jets of water, including being temporarily submerged should there be very
heavy rainfall. Once the 60mm diameter mounting hole has been drilled, the stainless steel deck light simply slots into
place.
MR11 LED lamps will work from a normal 12v A/C transformer
as used for 12v halogen lamps. No special LED driver is required.
A clear lens will ensure optimum light output in a spot beam, whereas a frosted lens will reduce glare, diffusing light more
softly at a slightly dimmer light output.

12v Installation – See Instructions & Data Sheets Tab
Choosing the style of a product is only part of the equation you must also think of where that product will be used and how
it will be installed. All exterior lighting products on our web site have an IP rating appropriate to each light fitting
and its intended application and is therefore fit for purpose. Water ingress is the enemy for outdoor lighting and the
products supplied are only as good as the installation. The weakest point is always cable joints. All joints must be
made 100% watertight and this can be done using IP68 cable connectors and/or waterproof junction boxes which are then
filled with a re-enterable liquid gel mix. All joints where possible should be made above ground for easy access and
reduced water ingress. When installing ground buried lights adequate drainage systems should be put in place especially
in clay-based soil areas. If possible, use ground surface spike lights rather than a buried light. Care must be
taken with the cable runs and not to install transformers more than 30 metres away from the furthest fitting to avoid
any voltage drop. Cabling should be 2 core Rubber HO5RN-F or HO7RN-F and not PVC. PVC leads to capillary action over
time especially with UV degradation. Always check the correct type of transformer you need for your fittings. We recommend
wiring in parallel with Toroidal AC and LED DC drivers. But when using Milliamp mA LED drivers, they should always be
wired in series. Plug and Play kits are simply a case of daisy chaining the fittings via plug and play junction boxes,
connectors and extension cables using a 2-pin plug arrangement. These Plug and Play fittings should only be used for
small domestic projects due to voltage drop over 5 metres.
All exterior lights must be installed by a certified NIC EIC electrician and should be signed off by an electrician with
Part P certification. There are a selection of waterproof jointing kits and boxes available on this web site.
