The Charleston Maxi-Flood is a 12v Plug and Play Brass Floodlight designed to illuminate garden features. The Maxi-Flood
is a larger upgraded version of the Charleston Floodlight. It is a fantastic application for up-lighting trees, statues,
plants and also shrubs. The fitting is plug and play meaning wiring can be made quick and easy with the use of the accessories listed below.
This versatile Maxi-Flood comes complete with an anti-glare shield. Adjust and angle the fitting in various positions
over 180º by loosening and tightening the serrated clamp joint. A frosted lens is present within the fitting allowing
a subtle anti-glare wash of light.
This 12v Brass Floodlight houses a G4 replaceable LED or halogen bulb, many of which are available in Warm White as well
as Daylight White. We recommend the use of LED bulbs as this will have a much longer life span than a halogen equivalent
as well as using less energy. We stock a range of G4 bulbs which can be found below. They should work with a normal 12v AC transformer. No need for a special DC LED driver. To insert and
replace the bulb, simply remove the face of the fitting to reveal the bulb holder. A highly polished reflector is present
inside the head, designed to maximize light output.
This 12v brass flood light comes supplied with 1.3m of 2 core cable.
12v Installation
how it will be installed. All exterior lighting products on our web site have an IP rating appropriate to each light fitting
and its intended application and is therefore fit for purpose. Water ingress is the enemy for outdoor lighting and the products
supplied are only as good as the installation. The weakest point is always cable joints. All joints must be made 100% watertight
and this can be done using IP68 cable connectors and/or waterproof junction boxes which are then filled with a re-enterable
liquid gel mix. All joints where possible should be made above ground for easy access and reduced water ingress. When installing
ground buried lights adequate drainage systems should be put in place especially in clay-based soil areas. If possible, use
ground surface spike lights rather than a buried light. Care must be taken with the cable runs and not to install transformers
more than 30 metres away from the furthest fitting to avoid any voltage drop. Cabling should be 2 core Rubber HO5RN-F or
HO7RN-F and not PVC. PVC leads to capillary action over time especially with UV degradation. Always check the correct type
of transformer you need for your fittings. We recommend wiring in parallel with Toroidal AC and LED DC drivers. But when
using Milliamp mA LED drivers, they should always be wired in series. Plug and Play kits are simply a case of daisy chaining
the fittings via plug and play junction boxes, connectors and extension cables using a 2-pin plug arrangement.
